Thomas C. Brückner studied physics, philosophy and mathematics in Heidelberg and Freiburg
and received his doctorate in philosophy and physics in Aachen and Heidelberg respectively.
Worked as a Scientific Visitor at Stanford University. Habilitation in philosophy with Prof
Moulines. Lecturer at the LMU and at the University of Potsdam.
Thomas C. Brückner researches and teaches philosophy of science (reduction, structuralist reconstructions, measurement theory), philosophy of physics, ancient philosophy, especially Plato (Timaeus and the Republic) and Aristotle (Physics and Metaphysics), as well as philosophy of mind (neural networks, Boltzmann machines).
His current research interests include in particular the trope-theoretic characterization of elementary particles, as well as the ontological description of the soul.
